Sillage means leaving a scent trail. It is pronounced as seeyazh in French.
Sillage is by definition a projection of fragrance around the user. The way it diffuses, projects and creates a scent trail is called sillage. Having a long sillage does not always mean the perfume composition is good, it could be due to use of diffusive ingredients like musks, florals and hedione notes. High sillage perfumes are mostly light or volatile but lasting ingredients. Some may like to leave scent trails and others prefer individual sillage.
Some of the known examples of perfumes with strong sillage are CHANEL 31, Prada Infudion de Iris, Dior Posion, Lancome Tresor Midnight Rose.
